Lambourne End Outdoor Centre

The Centre's farm is a working, low intensity farm which is managed following permaculture principles where the animals lead a free-range life. We are committed to educating young people about farming, helping them to understand where food comes from and to understand the importance of looking after our environment. The Centre offers the perfect location to get out into the countryside, feel free and breath fresh air! We offer 10 different activities which allow groups to have fun on the farm, learn new things and meet a wide range of farm animals.

The Centre boasts 54 acres of countryside - we call it our 54 Acre Classroom. All this space means we can keep a wide variety of animals including cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, goats, ponies and rabbits. We've also got a couple of resident dogs and cats. You can meet the animals during 'One Horse Power', 'Meet, meat and eat', 'Chicken & the egg' and 'You must be kidding!'.

The space is used to grow lots of useful and delicious plants and vegetables. Your group can learn about these during 'Sow & Grow' and 'Plants with a purpose'.

All the space means we have lots of natural areas where many birds and creatures live which you can explore during 'Sensory Trail' and 'Home Sweet Home'. We also have a pond where there are lots of newts, water creatures and plants which you can explore during 'Freshwater Explorer'.

All the educational farm and environment activities are linked to Key Stages 1 and 2 curriculum through educational packs.
